The mayor’s family business is a Yukon Energy contractor. The mayor has been very supportive of Yukon Energy in expanding diesel capacity here in Faro, which keeps the diesel noise and pollution away from Whitehorse’s growing population and brings it here instead.
Asked about getting paid by Yukon Energy while supposedly representing the town’s interests involving Yukon Energy, the mayor said there was no conflict. He was twice asked to put this in writing, and he refused.
Our out of town CAO has been asked about this also, but has not responded.
